This last year has seen many changes to the Costa Calida. The property boom seems set to continue with prices still lower than many other coastal area of southern Spain. Now the infrastructure is being put together for the influx of new tourists and residents, everywhere you look, new water systems are being installed, new roads are being made and old ones renovated
We are very lucky to be living here with our fabulous climate, low cost of living, and clean air.
The medical facilities are being updated all the time and there are brand new hospitals, which rival any in the UK.
Cartagena our local city now offers many new tourist attractions, including an open top tourist bus, catamaran trips around the bay, the opportunity to visit the roman theatre or take the glass lift to visit the castle.
20.7 million euros is to be spent in the Mazarron area. The Minister of Tourism has listed over 80 projects as important; work has already started on many of them. 39 of Mazarron’s beaches will soon boast new promenades, nets, showers, feet washing facilities, new streetlights, benches and children’s play areas.
Several new commercial centres are planned for the Mazarron area in the coming years and one of these is reported to include a multi screen cinema and leisure centre.
The new marina will offer many extra facilities, including restaurants, bars, underground parking and shopping.
