More good news for Murcia shoppers

Some familiar high street store names are setting up shop in Murcia with recent reports saying that amongst those on the way are Primark, C&A and H&M

The latest store to open in Cartagena's huge shopping complex is the French fashion store Kiabi. Already the large shop, which specialises in fashion at reasonable prices and children's wear is attracting big crowds with 15,000 people visiting in the first two weeks since opening. Decathlon, the sports superstore is also proving very poplar.

But it is the big name stores that will most interest readers from the UK. The C&A and H&M stores are listed as due to open at the Parque Mediterraneo site, just off the motorway a little to the north of Cartagena. Look for the signs to the Cabezo Beaza industrial estate and the retail complex is just next door.

The Primark store will be opening at one of the two big shopping centres near to Murcia city. Exact dates are not know for the new stores but it is safe to say that by the end of this year, there will be a hugely increased range of choices for shoppers. Meanwhile shoppers continue to flock in great numbers to the newly opened IKEA store in Murcia. Operators of the three big retail centres say that they are expecting customers to come not just from Murcia but also from Alicante to the north and Almeria to the south. All are situated next to the motorway.

As well as the British brands many leading European and international shops are establishing themselves at the big centres. These include Toys "R" Us, Cortefiel, Carrefour, electronics retailer MediaMart and DIY store Leroy Merlin.
